Non Load/Preasurized Seals in Saltwater Systems

Here is a trick I figuired out that the local reef story thought would kill my systems. (if this kills your system its not my fault). Anyway I had this book case microreef with this cool lid system over on it that wasn't exactly water tight so I would get salt creep on the edges. I took the lid off and fill the gap with 100% petrolym jelly and put the lid back on. Much to my surprise my mini reef didn't die and further no more salt creep...
